Connecting the combox with the Wheelchair battery
Connect the red wire to the + pole on the wheelchair battery. Connect the blue wire to the – pole on the wheelchair battery. Make sure you charge from + on one battery and – on the other. This ensures even load on the batteries.
Do not insert a safety switch since an “on board” (inside the combox) is already installed. Attach the combox on the wheelchair in a safe spot. Use industrial Velcro (3M). Make sure wires are not stretched as the wheelchair moves.
Attaching the cepacom cradle.
Find a suitable spot for the cepacom. Attach the diamond shaped 1”” ball to the wheelchair. Adjust the RAM mounts to fit the cepacom to the customer. Attach the 3-1 adapter in a safe spot without strethibg the 40 cm cable. Use industrial 3M Velcro if possible.
Connecting power to the PDA
Connect the cable to the USB port on the combox. Connect the other end to the 3-1 adapter. Make sure that you connect the mini usb in the right connector on the 3-1 adapter. The middle connector on the 3-1 adapter is for 3,5 mm jack. The last connector is for headset.
Connecting the 01-switch
Insert the 3,5 mm jack into the combox.
SIM card
IMPORTANT!!! Make sure the PIN request Is disabled on the SIM card. Do this on a regular phone. The CepaCom will NOT work if the PIN request code is turned on.
Import SIM contacts
Read the user manual (UK/US version)
If error occurs
The cepacom usually restarts itself after 30 seconds if it detects an error. If the cepacom does not restart itself do this: Take the cepacom out of the cradle. Take off the back plate. Press the little red button on the back. The cepacom restarts
If you call a number that is occupied
When the cepacom detects that the number you call is occupied, it sometimes cut the connection to the person you call (you wont even hear the occupied tone).
If connection is lost between the Combox and the PDA
You can see this if the BT icon on the screen has a red line across it. Reboot the PDA to re-connect. I this does not work do this: choose in the top menu: Einstellungen à Weiter à Diverse à ComBox (Choose “Thumbs up” and press again. Then reboot the PDA.
Sound
You can do one of the following. We recommend option 1 since no wires troubles the user, and the quality of sound/mic is good.
1. Buy a Bluetooth speaker (fx Jabra 5050) and connect to CepaCom.
2. Use a Bluetooth headset.
3. Use the microphone and speaker supplied by us.
4. Use the headset that comes with the CepaCom kit.
